I Am The Dandy Magpie.
I am the dandy magpie
and my plumage I do preen:
it is a black and white affair
with just a dash of green.
My tail is long and elegant
and it is my pride and joy,
sure to impress, seen at its best,
when I fly across the sky.
See me strut about the place
like some important swell:
I own the ground I walk upon
and I own the air as well.
I have the most alarming call
and it brings me lots of fun.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
It goes off like a gun.
The cat he is my enemy
because he's very bad:
he's out to catch young magpies,
and I'm out to drive him mad.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Hear me overhead.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Hear me from your bed.
