One Proud Little Girl.
I am pwoud,
pwoud to be bold:
I don't want to be good
or do wha' I'm told.
I don't re'spec' me elderers
or anyone who's tall,
who think they can boss me
jus' 'cause I'm small.
I like lots 'o mischief,
lots 'o noisy fun,
laughin' and shoutin'
and stickin' ou' me tongue.
I don't 'wash me handies'.
I pulls the arms off dolls.
I like to curse and swear
and me favori' word is: 'Balls!'
I hate all goody-goodies
and all yer talk of luv,
of angels and saints
and the big beardy up above.
I migh' look innocen'
and me no more than six,
but I am, in me heart,
a migh'y hanarkissed.
