On My Face.
About to let go,
I notice the face below,
clearly framed in the oval pool.
That fool! That loon!
That fallen man in the moon!
I let him have it,
really let him have it.
My mischief has its way.
There is turmoil, agitation, dismay,
but soon, all spent, and calm restored,
features assemble once more.
In the ensuing peace
our eyes meet
and we agree:
what's one more indignity!
